Join the Bag Project Group
Only Cricket’s Nest Members May Join
Beginning with just three members creating 65 bags during the first holiday season, our group now surpasses 1,100 reusable shopping bags annually. If you’ve contributed a handmade bag over these past 15 years, thank you immensely for boosting sales and aiding environmental conservation efforts by reducing plastic waste.
A gift certificate is awarded to the person who makes the most bags

Sewing Details
Making bags involves simple sewing with straight lines. Sizes are sides 18” x 20” with handles 4” x 18”. Measurements are flexible and can vary depending on your fabric. However, we do ask that finished bags be no smaller than 14 inches square. Instruction sheets are available, but feel free to be creative. Most fabric comes from donations to the shop, and the Staff is always on the lookout for appropriate fabric for the bag project. Some members also use fabric from their stash.
We sew at Home
Then bring completed bags to scheduled gatherings each month. At the meetings cut fabric parts and labels are available. There, you can visit with fellow sewists, view completed bags and ask questions. We always have enjoyable discussions.
Our Goal for 2025
Our goal for this year is 1200 bags, and we would like your help. Again, this year a gift certificate will be awarded to whoever sews the most bags.
